Marta is a Brazilian, descendent from a Lebanese family in which music and dance are a cultural inheritance. In her childhood she used to dance in parties with her Arabic friends to have fun. In her adolescence, however, people in her community, were asking her more often to dance at parties. Marta's passion for dance led her initially to study classical ballet for five years, and then she decided to take seriously the art of Belly Dance and add its techniques to her dance knowledge. She took Belly dance classes in Brazil with the recognized Belly Dancer, Lulu Sabouge, and in New York with the talented and respected Serena. In 1998, her popularity grew. She began working almost everywhere, and has been steadily working in clubs, restaurants, and private parties. She owes her success to an exceptional aptitude for musical perception, melody and corporal rhythm. Her tireless search for new expressions took her to Egypt, Israel and Lebanon, where her innate art was shaped to the state of spirit of the traditional Arabic Dancers.
She enjoys dancing with tray with candles balancing on her head, wings, veil, zills, sword, and do a lot of public participation. Her dance expresses the join and the power of people whose traditions are carried in the body and soul. Marta is a professional belly dancer that can be requested for live band, special events, birthday party, wedding, corporate function, Bar-mitzvas, Bachelorette or learning how to belly dance. Marta's interest in other cultures led her to travel to other countries in Europe such as Portugal, Spain, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Amsterdam, France, and Greece which gave her incentive to learn and become fluent in other languages such as Spanish, Italian and English beside her native language, Portuguese. She loves all kind of music so she never limited herself to one style or another. Marta's dance focus on femininity, flexibility, sensuality, energy with slow and cheerful movements.
